About Sanibel CHR: Board Members

Debbie Friedlund, Vice President

Debbie Friedlund has been a Sanibel resident since 1979. She is a volunteer and a Board Member for CROW (Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife), and the owner of a homewatch service on the Island . In addition to monitoring sea turtle nests for Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation, she also monitors the island osprey nests and is a Board member for the International Osprey Foundation.

Ms. Friedlund is originally from the Midwest, and calls DeKalb , Illinois her hometown. She is a graduate of Northern Illinois University , with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She is the former director of the Children's Education Center of the Islands , and with her husband John, former owners and managers of the Periwinkle Cottages and the Sea Horse Cottages on Sanibel.

Ms. Friedlund has been a CHR Board member since April 2002. She currently serves as CHR's Vice-President and Co-Chairs the Landlord/Tenant Committee.
