About Sanibel CHR: Board Members

Jane Hudson

Jane Hudson has been involved in teaching and caring for young children, and dedicated to quality child care for over 30 years. She taught art in a residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed children in Michigan , and became the program director for their child care center. She and her husband Dan Cornila were the owners of The Little Cottage 1 and 2 child care centers in Milford , Michigan until 1996. They owned and operated the Rabbit Road Center for Children on Sanibel for 15 years.

Ms. Hudson attended Wayne State University in Detroit , Michigan , majoring in Early Childhood Education. She holds a Child Development Accreditation from the State of Florida . In addition, Ms. Hudson has a Fine Arts Degree from Greenbriar College in Lewisburg , West Virginia . She is an artist, and is a member of the Sanibel Captiva Art League and B.I.G. Arts. She is also active as a member of ZONTA, CROW, and the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation.

After vacationing on Sanibel for many years, Ms. Hudson and her husband made Sanibel their permanent home in 1990. They share five children and nine grandchildren.

Ms. Hudson has been a CHR Board member since May 2000. She also currently serves as Co-Chair of CHR's Landlord/Tenant Committee.
