Allen Myers, Treasurer

Allen Myers currently serves Sanibel as a Vice-President for the Bank of the Islands . He also serves on the Sanibel-Captiva Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and is very active in other island organizations such as the Periwinkle Partnership, Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis, Sanibel Junior Achievement, and Sanibel-Captiva Rotary.

Mr. Myers is originally from Oxford, Ohio, and is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati in 1969, where he obtained a BA in Business Administration with a major in Marketing. Upon graduation, Allen worked for Shell Oil Company in Indiana and later returned to the Oxford , OH area to operate a family business. As his interest in the financial industry increased, he became a board member and commercial loan officer for the Bath State Bancorp in Bath, IN.

After moving to Southwest Florida in 1996, Mr. Myers extended his background with employment with Merrill Lynch in Ft. Myers , FL , and Smith Barney located in West Palm Beach , FL. In 1999, Allen joined First Union/Wachovia as a Senior Loan Specialist. In 2001, he moved over to the Bank of the Islands as a Vice-President.
