Scott Marcelais
Executive Director

Scott Marcelais has over 25 years of experience in broad-based social housing, and economic development and management. Before moving to the Ft. Myers area, Scott was the Alternative Finance Director and the Program Development Manager for the Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology in Tallahassee, FL. Prior to this position, Scott was the Administrator for the Tallahassee Housing Authority, a Planner for the Cape Ann Community Action Agency in Gloucester, MA, Executive Director for the Salisbury Housing Authority in Salisbury, MA, Special Projects Coordinator for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Communities and Development, Boston, MA, and several additional housing and management positions in the Massachusetts area.

A native of Amesbury, Massachusetts, Mr. Marcelais received an Associates degree in Mental Health Technology from Northern Essex College, and a Baccalaureate degree in Human Service Administration from Merrimack College. Scott has received Certification in Employment and Training Administration from Harvard University; Community Development and Housing Management from Tufts University; Construction Management/Housing Inspection from the University of Wisconsin, and has completed a Masters program in Applied Management from Lesley College, and Graduate studies in Gerontology from the University of Massachusetts.

Mr. Marcelais is the founding President of Amesbury Educational Foundation; Chairman of Salisbury Housing Partnership; Governor's Appointee to Massachusetts Housing Partnership for the State of Massachusetts; DCA Planning Team Member, Florida HUD Consolidated Plan for the State of Florida; and a member of the Tallahassee Coalition for the Homeless; Florida Department of Children and Families Independent Living Services Workgroup; and Child Welfare League of America, Housing and Homelessness Advisory Group.

Mr. Marcelais first visited Sanibel in 1995. He has 2 children, and enjoys golf, baseball, fishing, travel, reading, and old movies.
