Housing Campuses: Woodhaven
The Newest Location: Woodhaven
Historically, four to five years heave been required to plan, permit,
construct and open a BMRH project. This was true for the newest
project, Woodhaven. CHR purchased the three acre site on Casa Ybel
Road in 2000, with the help of a $155,000 Community Development
Block Grant and CHR’s own funds.
During the predevelopment and construction phases, as in all BMRH
efforts, Woodhaven benefited greatly from the assistance of many
outside people and resources, including several City staff members.
In addition, other professionals provided their services at deeply
discounted rates to CHR, including current CHR attorney and former
City Attorney/Manager Robert Pritt, structural engineer Rick Arnold,
IWA’s Rich Calabrese, and CHR’s Construction Coordinator
and former City Building Official Max Anderson.
